For more than 80 years - longer than most of us have been alive - one-party politics at the State House has failed us.
As a result, Rhode Island ranks:
In 2024, bills pushed through the General Assembly stripped local Zoning Boards of authority to decide issues of local land use and housing density in development projects. These bills also left adjacent property owners with no way to fight adverse decisions of regional planners and developers.
Local zoning and planning decisions are essential to preserving the integrity of private property. Private property rights are the cornerstone of a free and prosperous society, ensuring individuals' autonomy and security.
Without robust protection of private property, our communities risk instability, inefficiency, and infringement on our personal liberties.
